Most "seamless" suppliers outsource the actual knitting. We don't. Yesseam runs circular seamless machines under our own roof, alongside cut & sew, dye-sublimation and finishing — a level of vertical integration that gives us control over fit, fabric hand-feel and lead time. That's why we describe ourselves as a vertically integrated seamless activewear factory in Xiamen, China: not a trading company, but a real seamless specialist.
Seamless construction knits the garment as a single tube with minimal stitching. The result is a genuine second-skin fit, fewer chafe points, better stretch recovery and a smoother look under clothing — the qualities premium yoga and training brands are built on.
Seamless knit structure with a knitted-in transition from flat knit into a denser rib zone — shaping done by stitch, not by seam.
Our machines and equipment
Knitting, cutting, sewing and finishing all run under one roof in Xiamen. This is the equipment behind every order, counted on the factory floor:

Gauge
28G and 32G
Cylinder diameters
17–21 inches, with machines at several diameters in that range
Two of those numbers matter most to a buyer. Gauge is needle density: 32G knits a finer, smoother surface, while 28G gives a slightly fuller fabric with more visible structure. Cylinder diameter sets the circumference of the knitted tube, and with it the sizes a style can be knitted in. A very wide size range can need two cylinder sizes, so we confirm which of ours your size chart needs when we quote — the reasoning is laid out in our gauge and cylinder guide.
Many seamless pieces still get a sewn finish — a bound neckline, a bartacked strap, a heat-transfer label — and cut-and-sew styles need a full sewing floor. Both run next to the knitting machines:

Fabrics & specs
Our seamless knits typically run 90% nylon / 10% spandex and our cut-and-sew fabrics typically 75% nylon / 25% spandex, at 230–320 GSM with 4-way stretch. Both the fabric and the yarn can be customised, including GRS-certified recycled options. The facility is BSCI audited and works with GRS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified materials, under ISO 9001 quality management.
Yarn specification is where a fabric spec really begins — denier and filament count decide the hand long before the garment exists.

What "seamless" means in clothing
Seamless clothing is knitted to shape on a circular machine rather than cut from fabric and sewn together, so the finished garment has no side seams and almost no stitching. What that means in practice depends on the product:
Garment
What seamless means for it
Leggings
No side or inner-leg seams; waistband and compression zones are knitted in
Sports bras and bralettes
Knitted in one piece around a knitted underband; usually wireless, with removable pads
Tops, tanks and shirts
Body knitted as a tube; where there are sleeves, they are linked at the shoulder
Sets
Top and bottom knitted from the same yarn and dyed together, so the colours match
One-pieces
Bodysuits and unitards knitted as one long tube, closed at the crotch

How a seamless order runs
Swatches and style selection — feel the knits before choosing.
Sample — a branding sample on a stock style, or a development sample on a custom one.
Your approval — fit, colour and opacity, signed off before bulk.
Knitting — each garment knitted to length on circular seamless machines.
Dyeing and heat-setting — dyed to the approved shade, then set on forms so it holds its size.
Inspection — in-line checks during production and a final AQL inspection.
Packing and shipping — by air or sea, with DDP available to the US, EU, UK, Canada and Australia.
What we check before anything ships
Two kinds of number, kept separate. Our own production floors: fabric opacity by shade — at least 190 GSM for black, 220 GSM for mid-tones and 240 GSM for light shades and nudes, squat-tested at full stretch. Industry standards we inspect to: AQL 2.5 for major and 4.0 for minor defects at final inspection, knit measurement tolerances of ±1–1.5 cm, and stretch growth within the limits of ASTM D2594. The full list, with which number comes from where, is in the QC numbers a factory actually works to.
Private label & OEM/ODM
Apply your brand to proven seamless styles (private label), manufacture to your tech packs (OEM), or co-develop from our seamless library (ODM). See private label & OEM and our yoga apparel capabilities, or read the FAQ.
A seamless activewear manufacturer knits garments on circular seamless machines as a single tube with minimal stitching, producing leggings, sports bras and sets with a second-skin fit, fewer chafe points and better stretch recovery. Yesseam knits seamless fully in-house in Xiamen, China.
Is Yesseam a real seamless factory or a trading company?
Yesseam is a real, vertically integrated seamless factory in Xiamen, China. We run our own circular seamless knitting, cut & sew, dye-sublimation and finishing in-house, and we welcome factory audits — so you work directly with the people who make your garments, not a middleman.
What is seamless activewear?
Activewear knitted to shape on circular seamless machines instead of being cut from fabric and sewn. Each piece leaves the machine already tubular, its waistband, compression zones and textures built into the knit, so it has no side seams, fewer chafe points and a smooth, second-skin fit.
What is a seamless set?
A matching top and bottom — typically a sports bra or tank with leggings or shorts — both knitted seamless. In a well-made set the two pieces are knitted from the same yarn and dyed together, so the colours match exactly rather than nearly.
What is the minimum order for seamless activewear?
From 50 pieces per style for stock styles without a logo, 100 pieces per style with your logo, and 500 pieces per style for full custom development. The full breakdown, with sample costs and lead times, is on our pricing page.
How long does a seamless sample take?
Development samples take 7–10 days and cost around US$30–80 per style. Fabric swatches are free and ship within 48 hours, which is the quickest way to judge a knit before committing to a sample.
Can seamless be made as a one-piece?
Yes. Bodysuits and unitards are knitted as one long tube from neckline to crotch, with the bust, waist and hip zones programmed into the knit, and then closed at the crotch.
Where are Yesseam's seamless garments made?
In Xiamen, Fujian, China, where we run circular seamless knitting alongside cut-and-sew, dye-sublimation and finishing. We welcome video walk-throughs and factory audits before an order.
Do you manufacture seamless underwear and shapewear?
Yes. We knit seamless briefs, thongs, boyshorts and high-waist briefs, and shapewear such as sculpting bodysuits and shaping shorts, on the same machines and yarns as our activewear, with cotton-lined gussets. Minimums follow the same structure as the rest of the range: 50 pieces per style plain, 100 with your logo, 500 for full custom.
Is seamless activewear made for men?
Yes. The usual men's pieces are compression tops and base layers, training shorts and boxer briefs. The knitting is the same as for women's styles; what changes is the sizing, the compression level and, on underwear, a contoured front shaped in the knit.
What is a seamless shirt?
A T-shirt or top whose body comes off a circular knitting machine already tubular, with no side seams; where there are sleeves, they are linked on at the shoulder. It fits closer than a cut-and-sew tee and is mostly used for training tops and base layers.
How can I check that a seamless factory really knits in-house?
Ask for a live video walk-through of the knitting floor with the machines running, samples knitted on the factory's own machines, and the gauge and cylinder size it would use for your style. A trading company can show finished goods but not its own knitting floor. We welcome video walk-throughs and factory audits before an order.
What machines does Yesseam use for seamless knitting?
Santoni seamless circular knitting machines, mainly the SM8-TOP2V — 50 in total, in 28G and 32G, with cylinder diameters from 17 to 21 inches. Cutting, sewing and finishing run alongside on our own equipment, including 40 flatlock (4-needle, 6-thread), 40 overlock and 45 single-needle lockstitch machines.
Which sizes can your seamless machines knit?
That depends on the cylinder. Our seamless machines run cylinders from 17 to 21 inches, and each diameter covers its own band of body sizes. Send your size chart and we will confirm which cylinders your range needs — a very wide range can need two, which means two machine set-ups.
What yarn do you knit seamless activewear from — nylon (polyamide) or polyester?
Our standard seamless blend is 90% nylon (polyamide) and 10% spandex (elastane). A seamless garment is knitted rather than cut from finished fabric, so the elastane runs through every course and about 10% gives enough stretch; cut-and-sew fabric needs more, which is why ours runs 75/25. Other yarns, including GRS-certified recycled nylon, can be specified for custom development — the yarn guide covers how polymer choice changes hand-feel and recovery.
What does seamless activewear cost per piece, FOB China?
Our published benchmark of 3,038 catalogue styles puts the median FOB price at $8.50 for leggings, $7.90 for a sports bra or top and $14.90 for a two-piece set. Yarn and spandex share, construction details, finishing and packaging move a quote up or down, and minimums are 50 pieces per style plain, 100 with your logo and 500 for full custom development. Category ranges are in the price benchmark.
Which machines do seamless factories in China use?
Garment-size seamless knitting runs mostly on Santoni machines from Brescia, Italy, part of the Lonati Group; Chinese builders such as Zhejiang Rifa and Sintelli (XINDA) make machines for the same job. Our own floor is 50 Santoni machines, mainly the SM8-TOP2V. Whichever factory you assess, ask for the machine count, model and gauge, and a video of those machines running — see seamless machine makers compared.
Do you make seamless gym wear for brands?
Yes — seamless gym wear is the core of our range: leggings, sports bras, tanks, shorts and matching sets, knitted in Xiamen and sold under our clients' own labels. You can brand our stock seamless styles or develop your own; minimums are 50 pieces per style plain, 100 with your logo and 500 for full custom. The private label route is the lowest-risk first order.
